Tangshan hands out $2.9 million in fines; suspends ops at errant mills

The Ecology and Environment Bureau in the Chinese province of Tangshan issued administrative penalties on multiple mills in April, including the suspension of four mills, Fastmarkets understands.

Data from Tangshan's Ecology and Environment Bureau showed 48 cases of emissions violations over April 1-4 with total fines issued amounting to 19.2 million yuan ($2.9 million).
