Market shrugs off ‘minimal impact’ of fire at PM Bintulu’s aluminium smelter

A fire at Press Metal Bintulu Sdn Bhd’s (PM Bintulu) new phase 3 smelter on Saturday April 3 has caused "minimal interruption" at the plant in the Malaysian state of Sarawak.

The fire damaged one of the 300 smelting pots at the plant, majority-owner Press Metal Aluminium Holdings Berhad (PMAHB) said in a release on its website on April 5.
