Fastmarkets calculated its daily
steel hot-rolled coil index domestic, exw Northern Europe at €894 ($1,057.80) per tonne on April 7, up by €9 per tonne from €885 per tonne on April 6.
The index was up by €58 per tonne week on week and by €144 per tonne month on month.
The calculation of Wednesday’s index was based on achievable prices estimated by market sources at €880-900 per tonne ex-works.
The majority of the region’s steelmakers were said to be holding back from making offers and trading coil this week.
