SOUTHERN EUROPE REBAR: Prices climb on improved buying

Steel rebar prices in southern Europe increased in deals during the week to Wednesday April 21, supported by improved buying activity and expectations of further price rises, sources told Fastmarkets.

Fastmarkets’ weekly price assessment for steel reinforcing bar (rebar), domestic, delivered Southern Europe was €600-615 ($723-741) per tonne on Wednesday, up by €5-10 per tonne from €590-610 last week.
The assessment was based on deals, offers and achievable prices heard by market participants over the assessment week.
Trading activity in Italy’s rebar market has been good over the past seven days, according to sources.
