Vale expects higher iron ore pellet premiums in Q3, executive says

Brazilian iron ore producer Vale expected to see higher premiums for iron ore pellet in the third quarter of this year, after steep increases were applied in both the first and second quarters, the company’s ferrous minerals director, Marcello Spinelli, said on Tuesday April 27.

The company was eager to supply the seaborne market with more pellet but there was not enough pellet feed available to do so, he said during a conference call to comment on first-quarter earnings.
Vale planned to return to its full capacity of 60 million tonnes per year in 2022.
