POLAND REBAR: Higher offers likely to be accepted in May on limited supply

Polish rebar producers were looking for higher prices in May amid rising end-user demand, an expected rise in feedstock prices and limited import options, Fastmarkets heard on Friday April 30.

Fastmarkets’ weekly price assessment for steel reinforcing bar (rebar), domestic, exw Poland, was 2,900-2,970 zloty ($769-787) per tonne on Friday, widening upward by 40 zloty per tonne week on week.
The assessment was based on deals, offers and achievable prices heard in the market during the past week.

A deal for about 4,000-5,000 tonnes was heard done at 2,900-2,910 zoty per tonne ex-works this week. Another deal for about 1,000 tonnes...
