EUROPE HRC: Domestic prices rise above Eur1,000 per tonne in north

Domestic prices for hot-rolled coil in Northern Europe have gone up to more than €1,000 ($1,212) per tonne ex-works because of the continuing material shortage and strong demand, sources told Fastmarkets.

Fastmarkets calculated its daily steel hot-rolled coil index, domestic, exw Northern Europe, at €1,007.14 ($1,221.03) per tonne on Friday April 30, up by €18.81 per tonne from €988.33 per tonne on Thursday.
The index was also up by €35.89 per tonne week on week and up by €171.14 per tonne month on month.

Friday’s index was based on achievable prices estimated by market sources at €1,000-1,010 per tonne ex-works and offers reported at €1,005-1,020...
