SOUTHERN EUROPE WIRE ROD: Mills sold out of May rolling at higher prices, sentiment upbeat

Steel wire rod producers in Southern Europe have mostly sold out of May rolling material at higher prices amid good demand and limited supplies, while sentiment for June remains very positive, sources told Fastmarkets this week.

Fastmarkets’ weekly price assessment for steel wire rod (mesh-quality), domestic, delivered Southern Europe, was €670-690 ($804-828) per tonne on Wednesday May 5, up by €10 per tonne week on week. 
The assessment reflected deals, offers and achievable prices reported by market participants over the assessment period.
