CHINA STEEL SCRAP: Prices stable on first working day after holiday

Import prices for ferrous scrap in China were steady on Thursday May 6 on China and Japan's first day back to work after public holidays in both countries.

Bids were heard at $505-510 per tonne cfr northern China for containerized plate & structural scrap (P&S), which is comparable to China's HRS101. Bids for bulk HRS101 ferrous scrap were heard at $520 per tonne cfr northern China. 

Limited offers were heard on May 6 because Japan's Golden Week holiday only ended on Wednesday. The highest offer was heard at $530 cfr northern China, which is equivalent to around $520 cfr...
