EUROPE HRC: Prices climb again, market awaits higher offers

Domestic prices for hot-rolled coils in Europe continued to tick up, pushed by solid demand as well as the ongoing material shortage, with market participants expecting to see higher offers from mills again soon, Fastmarkets heard on Thursday May 6.

Fastmarkets calculated its daily steel hot-rolled coil index, domestic, exw Northern Europe at €1,020.83 ($1,230) per tonne on May 6, up by €5.83 per tonne from €1,015 per tonne on May 5.
The index was also up by €32.50 per tonne week on week and up by €135.83 per tonne month on month.
