Fastmarkets assessed the aluminium low-carbon differential value-added product (VAP), Europe at $10-15 per tonne Friday May 7, flat compared to the last assessment on April 1.
Offers as high as $25 per tonne were reported for aluminium products such as billet, but market participants said it was difficult to achieve higher differentials with consumers because the three-month primary aluminium price on the London Metal Exchange was at its highest level since April 2018
- trading above $2,500 per tonne.
Physical premiums for aluminium products have also been setting all-time highs in recent weeks.
Fastmarkets assessed the aluminium 6063 extrusion billet premium, ddp North Germany (Ruhr region) at $900-960 per tonne Friday, up from $900-950 per tonne a week earlier.
