CHINA HRC: Prices surge amid fears over inflation

China’s hot-rolled coil prices surged on Monday May 10 after HRC futures rose to its daily limit amid fears over inflation.

Eastern China (Shanghai): 6,470-6,600 yuan ($1,006-1,025) per tonne, up 480-600 yuan per tonne
While sellers in Shanghai’s spot market offered HRC at 6,470-6,480 yuan per tonne in the morning, they raised this to as high as 6,600 yuan per tonne in the afternoon after HRC futures gained the daily limit of 6% in the morning trading session.
