EUROPE HRC: Domestic prices continue to climb on tight supplies, strong demand

Domestic prices for hot-rolled coil edged up further on Monday May 10, supported by an uptrend in the international market, a domestic shortage of material and strong demand, sources told Fastmarkets.

Fastmarkets calculated its daily steel hot-rolled coil index, domestic, exw Northern Europe at €1,043.75 ($1,269.46) per tonne on May 10, up by €1.75 per tonne from €1,042.00 per tonne on Friday May 7.
The index was also up by €36.61 per tonne week on week and up by €147.08 per tonne month on month.

Monday’s index was based on achievable prices estimated by market sources in the range of €1,030-1,050 per tonne...
