Turkish flat steel prices rise again before Eid, some mills stop taking orders

Flat steel prices continued to increase in Turkey before the beginning of the Eid al-Fitr religious holiday during the afternoon of Wednesday May 12.

Some producers stopped accepting new orders, while others only accepted new orders at higher prices.
Hot-rolled coil
Some hot-rolled coil producers stopped accepting new orders because of the uncertainty about pricing for October production. Their latest offer prices were $1,100 per tonne ex-works for September production.
But some mills accepted orders for October production at $1,150 per tonne ex-works during the past week.
