Ningxia issues new production cut; 30 ferro-silicon factories affected

On May 25, China’s Ningxia issued a series of policies to restrict its metallurgical sector to control its energy consumption, which will affect 30 ferro-silicon factories and create a production deficit of 110,000 tonnes, market participants told Fastmarkets.

The Ningxia Autonomous Region Development and Reform Commission released a document on Ningxia’s energy consumption situation, which has been under dual-control targets since Zhong Wei and Shizhuishan failed to meet the dual-control energy consumption tasks.

Zhongwei plans to cut 10% of its production and Shizhuishan plans to cut 15% of its production after the earlier production cuts...
