Airbus to raise aircraft production to pre-Covid levels by 2025
Europe’s largest aircraft manufacturer, Airbus, plans to ramp up production and remains confident of a recovery to pre-pandemic levels of demand for aircraft by 2025, the company said in an update for suppliers on Thursday May 27.
Airbus plans to increase production of its A320 single-aisle aircraft by more than 10% to 45 per month by October 2021.
And the company expects monthly production of its A350 jet to rise from five per month to six by the autumn of 2022.
Airbus also set a new target of 64 planes per month by the second quarter of 2023. This figure is higher than the rate of 60 the company was delivering before the pandemic started.
