Seaborne alumina price refreshes two-month high on rising China price

Chinese buyers turned to the seaborne market to seek a relatively cheaper price for smelters’ raw materials under a persistently rising China alumina price, which helped to push the alumina index to a new two-month high level, sources said.

Fastmarkets' daily benchmark alumina index, fob Australia stood at $282.07 per tonne on Friday June 4, up by $2.85 per tonne from $279.22 per tonne a day earlier and at its highest level since March 26 following three higher concluded alumina deals.
