LIVE FUTURES REPORT 08/06: LME tin at new 2021 highs, zinc above $3,000/t on Peru election

The London Metal Exchange three-month tin price set a new year-to-date high of $31,300 per tonne on June 8 morning while zinc’s price was on the rise but the rest of the complex was mostly unchanged from the Monday close.

LME three-month tin remained close to its new 2021 peak and was at $31,295 per tonne at 9am, a 2.5% increase from $30,525 per tonne on Monday. 
Supply bottlenecks remain for tin, given the fact that MSC – the world’s third largest tin producer – said that it had to declare force majeure on its operations due to a nationwide lockdown in Malaysia following a surge in Covid-19 cases in the country. 

It did not note when it would begin to fulfill its contractual obligations...
