RUSSIA FLAT STEEL: Prices broadly flat despite cool buying, softer exports

Domestic prices for flat steel in Russia’s Central Federal District around Moscow were largely unchanged in the week to Monday June 14 despite somewhat slower buying activity and a downtrend in the export market, sources have told Fastmarkets.

Fastmarkets’ weekly price assessment for steel hot-rolled sheet, domestic, cpt Moscow, Russia, was 104,000-105,000 roubles ($1,444-1,458) per tonne on June 14, including 20% value-added tax, narrowing downward from 104,000-106,000 roubles per tonne cpt the week before.
One source reported a July HR sheet offer from Novolipetsk Steel (NLMK) at 105,000 roubles per tonne, the same as for June material.

At the same time, Severstal was testing buyers with higher offers for July material - 109,000 roubles per tonne, up from 104,000...
