SOUTHERN EUROPE WIRE ROD: Italian mills hike prices for July material

Domestic prices for steel wire rod in the south of Europe increased substantially over the week to Wednesday June 23 on bullish offers from producers who justified the move against a backdrop of persistent shortages, strong demand, limited imports and rising feedstock costs.

Fastmarkets’ weekly price assessment for steel wire rod (mesh-quality), domestic, delivered Southern Europe was €850-870 ($1,013-1,036) per tonne on June 23, up from €810-850 per tonne delivered one week earlier.
