TAIWAN STEEL SCRAP: Prices rebound slightly on stable demand

Prices in the Taiwanese containerized ferrous scrap import market continued on their upward trend this week amid stable demand from steel mills and higher Japanese prices supporting sentiment, sources told Fastmarkets.

Fastmarkets’ daily price assessment for containerized steel scrap, heavy melting scrap 1&2 (80:20), United States material import, cfr main port Taiwan was $453-455 per tonne on Friday June 25, unchanged from June 24, and increasing by $3-5 per tonne from the June 18 assessment of $450 per tonne.
