LIVE FUTURES 22/07: Base metals prices continue recovery; copper up 0.9%

Base metals prices were largely higher on the London Metal Exchange on the morning of Thursday July 22, recovering further after from Monday's fragility.

"Monday’s weakness was thought to be prompted by increased fears about the spread of the Delta variant of Covid-19, but for the metals another wave of infections may be a doubled edge sword - it may well affect mining and shipping by as much as, if not more, than demand," William Adams, head of base metals and battery research at Fastmarkets, said.
