Battery-grade lithium carbonate and hydroxide prices in China’s domestic market accelerated higher in the past week amid routine restocking by consumers, while optimism regarding demand for technical-grade units provided further strength to the battery-grade market.
Fastmarkets’ assessment of the lithium carbonate 99.5% Li2CO3 min, battery grade, spot price range, ex-works domestic China rose to 90,000-95,000 yuan ($13,919-14,692) per tonne on Thursday, up by 3,500 yuan (3.93%) per tonne from 88,000-90,000 yuan per tonne a week earlier.
