Kamoa-Kakula’s phase one project runs near design capacity in July

Copper production at the Kamoa-Kakula mine in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) increased steadily in July at its phase one 3.8 million-tonnes-per-year concentrator plant, Ivanhoe Mines said on Tuesday August 3.

Production exceeded 500 tonnes per day toward the end of July, close to its phase one design capacity of approximately 550 tpy, or 200,000 tpy.
