US PIG IRON: Prices stop falling on suppliers’ full order books

Following a downtrend that began in mid-June due to soft demand, the market for pig iron imports in the United States stopped falling during the week to Friday September 10 because suppliers have sold large tonnages, mainly to China.

Fastmarkets’ price assessment for pig iron, import, cfr Gulf of Mexico, US was $530-540 per tonne on Friday, widening upward from $530-535 per tonne cfr a week before.
