US aluminium scrap prices rise on LME, export uptick

Smelter-grade aluminium scrap prices in the United States rose week on week in the wake of an upswing in futures prices on the London Metal Exchange and reports of increased export activity.

This pushed Fastmarkets' assessment for aluminum scrap mixed low copper clips, buying price, delivered Midwest secondary smelters up by 2 cents per lb to a range of 74-77 cents per lb on Thursday September 7 from 72-75 cents per lb the previous week.
