ArcelorMittal imposes energy surcharges on European long steel products

ArcelorMittal is imposing an energy surcharge on its long steel products in Europe to compensate soaring gas and electricity costs, Fastmarkets has learnt.

In a letter issued to customers, seen by Fastmarkets, and confirmed by several market sources, the company has implemented a temporary energy surcharge of €50 per tonne on its long steel products in Europe, which includes steel beams, rebar and wire rod, and will be applied to all new price agreements.
