SOUTHERN EUROPE REBAR: Producers raise prices again, citing high costs

Steel rebar producers in Southern Europe were looking to achieve higher prices once again because of surging costs, Fastmarkets heard on Wednesday October 27.

New prices had not been realized in deals yet, but market sources were optimistic for November.
Fastmarkets’ assessment of the price for steel reinforcing bar (rebar), domestic, delivered Southern Europe, was €745-760 ($864-882) per tonne on Wednesday, the same as in the previous week.
Starting this week, Italian producers pushed their base rebar prices to €490-500 per tonne ex-works, from €460-470 per tonne last week.
