CIS export slab prices keep falling amid weaknesses in major outlets

Export steel slab prices from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) region have seen another dramatic fall in the second half of November as major outlets continued to weaken.

As a result, lower prices were heard in bookings at all destinations.
In the Asian region, deals for CIS-origin material were reported within the range of $670-680 per tonne cfr last week, whereas in the preceding week customers were ready to pay $690 per tonne cfr.
A Russian mill selling material from the Far East ports of the country sold a cargo to Taiwan at $670 per tonne cfr.
