Domestic EU HRC prices fall on slow demand

Domestic hot-rolled coil prices in Northern Europe and Italy edged down on Tuesday November 30, due to limited spot market activity and a lack of demand from the automotive sector, sources told Fastmarkets.

European mills still have available some volumes of fourth-quarter-rolling coil, which they have been selling at discounted prices. In addition, one producer from Northern Europe was reported to be focused on export sales from the EU of both coil and steel slab.
Steelmakers had spare volumes of prompt-delivery coil due to the slump in steel demand from the automotive industry.
