Chile's October copper production down 3% amid Codelco, Escondida decreases

Chilean copper production fell by 3.25% year-on-year in October, with decreases reported by almost all of the country’s largest mines, national copper commission Cochilco said on Thursday December 2.

Copper output reached 470,700 tonnes in Chile during October, down from 486,500 tonnes a year before, according to Cochilco. But volumes were actually 5.21% higher than the 447,400 tonnes in September this year.
Low spot market liquidity has been putting downward pressure on copper treatment and refining charges (TC/RC) in recent weeks, with a slight increase observed on November 26.
