Polish rebar producers fail to achieve price rises amid cool buying

Steel rebar prices in Poland have declined in zloty terms this week on low market activity and currency fluctuations, despite producers pushing for a price rise because of high costs, sources told Fastmarkets on Friday December 3.

Fastmarkets’ price assessment for steel reinforcing bar (rebar), domestic, exw Poland, was 3,600-3,700 ($884-909) zloty per tonne on Friday, down by 20-80 zloty per tonne from 3,680-3,720 zloty per tonne seven days earlier.
In US dollar terms, however, the price increased slightly over the week due to the strengthening value of the Polish zloty.
