LME nickel maintains uptrend amid positive market

Base metals prices on the London Metal Exchange either held on to their prevailing levels or edged up in the morning of Wednesday December 8 on a number of segment-specific drivers.

Nickel's three-month price experienced a second day of increases. The price was at $20,225 per tonne at 9am on Wednesday, compared with $20,189 per tonne at the close of Tuesday.

Persistently low LME stock levels continued to support prices for the stainless steel raw material. LME data showed that 1,002 tonnes were booked for removal from Kaohsiung in Taiwan on Wednesday, taking on-warrant nickel stock levels to 56,850 tonnes - their lowest...
