China's domestic rebar prices weaken in response to drop in construction rates

China’s domestic rebar prices dropped amid soft demand on Friday December 31 following the release of data showing a drop in construction rates during the winter season.

Eastern China (Shanghai): 4,720-4,750 yuan ($741-745) per tonne, down by 10 yuan per tonne
Northern China (Beijing) weekly assessment: 4,500-4,550 yuan per tonne, down by 140-150 yuan per tonne
