China's copper scrap imports up 80% in 2021 despite supply concerns [CORRECTED]

China bought significantly more copper scrap in the form of recyclable copper material last year, despite supply disruptions stemming from regulation changes in Malaysia and Europe.

Import volumes rose by 80% to 1.69 million tonnes in 2021, compared with 943,652 tonnes in 2020, Chinese customs data shows.
