Teck averts strike at Highland Valley Copper in new deal with workers

Teck Resources Ltd has reached a new five-year collective agreement with union workers at its Highland Valley Copper (HVC) operations in British Columbia, Canada, averting a legal strike at the site, it said.

Members of United Steelworkers (USW) Local 7619, representing 1,048 workers at HVC, ratified the agreement – which replaces one that expired on September 30, 2021 – over the weekend.
