Bulk alloys prices remain cushioned by low stocks, production cuts

European bulk alloys prices should be partly protected by low stock levels and recent production cuts in the coming quarters, as market participants resign themselves to subdued demand thanks to a bleak outlook for stainless steel.

US government's DLA sets manganese ore offering

DLA Strategic Materials is offering 25,000 short dry tons of metallurgical-grade manganese ore from its depot in Wenden, in the US state of Arizona, under a negotiated sale, the agency said on WednesdayAugust 29.

Chinese steelmakers cut prices of manganese alloys further

Chinese steelmakers have started their purchasing for September this week, with the prices from major mills lowered further when compared with August, exacerbating an already depressed alloys market.
